On February 26, 1985, Philadelphia’s Julius Erving passed Elvin Hayes (27,313 points) as the third leading all-time scorer in pro basketball history during the 76ers’ 116-97 loss at Milwaukee. Erving would finish his career with 30,026 points (NBA and ABA combined), and is currently the 5th highest scorer in professional basketball history behind Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
